Civil Foreman | Water & Sewer (Greenfield Subdivisions)

Location: Melbourne (Western & Northern Suburbs) Sector: Greenfield Subdivisions (Industrial & Residential)

The Opportunity

Randstad is exclusively representing an industrial and residential builder backed by long-term partnerships with leading Melbourne developers. This company is scaling its civil construction self perform division to meet a growing pipeline of greenfield subdivision projects and seeking an experienced Civil Foreman with a specific focus on water and sewer reticulation.

This role is based out of the Western suburbs, with active project sites situated across Melbourne’s North and West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site crews and subcontractors to ensure the delivery of bulk earthworks and detailed civil components.

  • Direct the installation of deep sewer and potable/recycled water mains in accordance with Water Authority standards.

  • Coordinate the end-to-end reticulation process within greenfield residential and industrial estates.

  • Interpret and implement technical civil drawings, ensuring all works meet local council and developer specifications.

  • Manage daily site diaries, safety inductions, and toolbox talks to maintain a high standard of OHS compliance. 👷‍♂️

  • Liaise with project managers and engineers to track progress against strict development timelines.

  • Oversee the quality control of trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling operations to prevent rework.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor within the Victorian civil construction market.

  • Plumbing background and capability to sign off on PIC's (highly valuable).

  • Capability in greenfield subdivision environments 🏗️

  • Deep technical knowledge of water and sewer infrastructure installation and relevant Victorian water authority requirements.

  • Valid White Card and a current Australian Driver’s License.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead diverse site teams and manage subcontractor relationships effectively.

  • A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot onsite technical challenges independently.
